Whereas Bailey was struggling—noting that she couldn’t swim nearer to the boat—individuals on set wrongly believed she and Stokes had been simply “actually dedicated” to the scene.
“Everybody thought it was like, ‘Oh, wow, they’re within the scene. That is nice,’” Stokes defined. “I used to be like, ‘No, she’s drowning.’ I used to be like, ‘Hey, that’s not appearing!’”
Bailey chimed in, joking that, “Everybody’s like, ‘Wow, she’s actually good!’”
And though the 27-year-old admitted that capturing OBX’s underwater scenes had been the “hardest” for her to movie, she emphasised that was not the case for Stokes, whom she known as a “fish.”
“You really make a nasty day worse,” Bailey quipped to her costar. “After I’m struggling to barely swim, Chase is like [fake swims]. I swear he’s respiratory below there simply to make me look dangerous.”
