Lady, watch your mouth. It began when the Lady, Wash Your Face writer posted about her home cleaner and it acquired more and more soiled.
In a clip of the since-deleted put up resurfaced by Angie Treasure, Hollis referenced an April 2021 livestream the place she spoke a few lady who “cleans the bathrooms,” noting that “somebody commented and mentioned, ‘You are privileged AF’ and I used to be like, ‘You are proper. Exceptwhile promoting tens of millions of copies of her books is nice, a revered abolitionist she is just not.
Days later, Hollis issued an Instagram apology, explaining, “I do know I’ve brought about large ache in mentioning outstanding girls—together with a number of girls of shade—whose struggles and achievements I am unable to probably perceive.” Furthermore, she continued, “I disregarded the folks whose arduous work does not afford them monetary safety, usually resulting from inherently racist and biased methods.”
