Boy, 14, is lifeless after being hit by a bus in Portsmouth: Driver is arrested


A 14-year-old boy has died after being hit by a bus close to Portsmouth Harbour prepare station. 

Law enforcement officials had been referred to as to stories of a ‘severe collision’ on The Laborious, a busy avenue within the centre of the town, shortly after 4pm on Monday. 

{The teenager}, who was a pedestrian, was discovered struggling with life-threatening accidents and brought to hospital, the place he later handed away. 

A 39-year-old bus driver has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting severe harm by harmful driving, Hampshire Constabulary confirmed. 

He has been launched on bail till November 17. 

Any members of the general public who noticed the incident or might have dashcam or CCTV footage have been urged to contact the police. 

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary stated: ‘We’re interesting for info and witnesses as a younger boy has died following a bus crash in Portsmouth. 

‘At about 4.25pm on Monday August 17, police had been referred to as to The Laborious after stories of a severe collision involving a pedestrian and a bus.

Police officers are appealing for members of the public who may have witnessed the incident to come forward

‘The pedestrian, a 14-year-old boy from Portsmouth, was taken to hospital with life-threatening accidents and has since sadly handed away.

‘His household are being supported by specialist officers.’
